Holzbaukunst.at: Website for the Vorarlberg Timber Construction Association

The Vorarlberg Timber Construction Association stands for what defines the region when it comes to building with wood: over 120 member companies from carpentry, architecture and planning combine craftsmanship with climate-conscious building, honoring outstanding projects every year with the Holzbaupreis. Together with Grafik Design Moosbrugger, we developed a website that makes this work visible and helps builders find the right partner. From project examples to funding tips and events like kumm ga luaga, every builder finds the right information here.

Starting Point

The previous website ran on WordPress with an outdated page-building plugin. This prevented updating to a current, secure version. A security risk remained as a result. Many older events were also no longer displayed correctly. Photos, project images and data from over 15 years of the association's history were scattered across several old systems.

Our Solution

Together with the design agency Grafik Design Moosbrugger from Egg, we built a new website on Drupal, the content management system the association now uses to maintain all content itself:

Photos, project images and data from over 15 years of association history were reviewed, prepared and carried over into the new platform.
Carpentry businesses, architecture and planning firms as well as supplier partners are now presented clearly.
Builders find advice and funding paths for new builds, renovations and extensions in one place.
Events such as the Holzbaupreis and kumm ga luaga are now displayed reliably, complemented by an image gallery of award-winning timber construction projects.
For project submissions to the Holzbaupreis, we adapted the existing system and connected it to the new website through a new interface (API). Submitted projects now appear on the site automatically.

Result

With the new website, the Vorarlberg Timber Construction Association now has a central point of contact for builders, member companies and partners:

Topics such as timber construction, funding, network and events are clearly separated and easy to find.
The design by Grafik Design Moosbrugger and the technical implementation by proton.systems work together smoothly.
The association can keep members, projects and events up to date itself, without commissioning an agency for every change.
The website now runs on a current, securely maintained technical foundation instead of the old, outdated system.
