Museums today are far more than static exhibition spaces. With meinindustrie.museum, we created a digital place where history is not just consumed but actively shaped. Based on the design by Zeughaus and implemented with the flexible Kirby CMS, this platform combines archiving with modern community interaction.
The challenge was to develop a platform that goes beyond pure information dissemination. The goal was to build a growing collection of industrial milestones with the community at its center. What was missing was a simple, intuitive tool that allows citizens to submit their own stories, images, and memories easily without losing editorial control.
In close collaboration with the design by Zeughaus, we realized a high-performance web solution based on Kirby CMS.
User-Generated Content: We implemented a custom frontend form through which users can submit contributions (texts and images) directly.
Lean Backend: Kirby enables administrators to review, categorize, and approve submitted contributions with minimal effort.
Technology: Focus on speed and accessibility so that industrial culture remains accessible to every generation.
meinindustrie.museum is today a living, digital archive. The client benefits from a constantly growing content pool that is organically generated by users. For visitors, the barrier to participating in cultural work has been massively lowered. The result is high user engagement and a platform that shows how modern web solutions bridge the gap between yesterday and today.
